Care
We have to start by loving and caring for ourselves. We have to understand that God loves us and is proud of us no matter what we have, or have not accomplished. God is like a good, good Father that simply delights in our very existance and wants to have relationship with us and be involved in every aspect of our lives.
As we read the Bible we see how much God loves us, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whomsoever believes in Him will no perish, but have eternal life.”
Mark 12:30-31
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Jesus calls us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. That is why loving ourselves is step 1. We need to have love and care for those around us and be intentional about living life together.
